FAQ

What’s the difference between an automatic coffee maker and a drip type?+

An automatic grinds and brews for you — just add beans and press a button. A drip type (grounds only) needs a separate grinder. If you want to enjoy fresh-ground aroma easily every day, an automatic is convenient.

Does the mill type change the taste?+

Yes. Burr and conical mills grind more evenly with less harshness, while blade (cutter) mills are cheap but grind unevenly. If you prioritize taste, a burr/conical-mill machine is recommended.

Is maintenance hard?+

Recent machines support self-cleaning mills and removable, washable parts, so it’s easier than you’d think. Still, oils and grounds build up, so frequent rinsing and a thorough clean about once a month keep the flavor.

Is it usable for someone living alone?+

Many machines brew from 1–2 cups, so it’s no problem. Check capacity, footprint and operating noise. Compact models (like siroca) are popular for solo living.

What’s the difference from an espresso machine?+

The automatics here automate “drip.” To make rich espresso or lattes, you need a home espresso machine, which is a separate category. Choose by what you want to make.
