About this region

i.Nicaragua’s biggest producer

Jinotega department occupies the cool uplands of northern Nicaragua and, with neighboring Matagalpa, forms the heart of Nicaraguan coffee. With vast planted area it carries the bulk of the national crop — a backbone origin. Frequent cloud and mist help the cherries ripen evenly, supporting stable quality.

ii.As a blend’s foundation

The mild, chocolate-toned, balanced profile works in singles and blends alike, and the world’s major roasters have long valued it as blend stock. It is not the type to play the showy lead — but as a steady supply of coffee that tastes the way coffee should, its reliability is hard to beat.
