Overview

Nyamasheke, in Rwanda’s Western Province on Lake Kivu, is one of the country’s largest producing areas.

At 1,600–2,000m, washed Bourbon-lineage coffee develops juicy, fruit-rich flavor — tropical fruit, florals, chocolate. In contrast to Huye’s “black-tea finesse,” its charm lies in thicker sweetness and fruit.

About this region

i.Fruit by Lake Kivu

Lake Kivu is the great freshwater lake marking the western edge of the East African Rift, and its waterside temperature buffering and moderate humidity give the country around Nyamasheke a stable growing environment. Climatically continuous with South and North Kivu in the DR Congo across the water, the area has every condition for juicy, fruit-laden lots.

ii.Rwanda’s largest-scale producer

With high production even within Rwanda and washing stations of real capacity, the region can supply dependable specialty at volume. Western Province lots place high at competitions like the Cup of Excellence again and again, making this a name impossible to leave out of Rwandan specialty.
