Vietnam is the world’s second-largest producer, but most of that is lowland robusta. Son La sits in the cool, high northwest, one of the few areas suited to arabica. Its bright acidity and cleanliness overturn the image of Vietnam as robusta-only.
To showcase its bright acidity and cleanliness, a light-to-medium roast on paper drip works well. Brewed at 90–92°C, the citrus lift and nutty sweetness come through in balance.
